The Naked Dog's founder, Marco Giannini, entered the pet industry in 2004 with the groundbreaking product Happy Hips - a dog treat that not only tasted good, but added important nutritional supplements to help boost the health of your dog. In a few short years, Marco went from developing an idea while living on his Dad's couch to the pioneering a successful product line with placement in over 10,000 retail locations. Happy Hips disrupted the pet product industry and caused brands to reevaluate the way pet products are designed and marketed - but Marco didn't stop there.

In 2014, Marco and Bere Giannini started The Naked Dog with the mission of helping pet parents access only the healthiest products for their pets. Within the next three years, The Naked Dog family grew to 11 retail locations in Southern California and built a group of pet parents dedicated to their grain-free, gluten-free in house pet food and treat brand, Naked. In 2017, The Naked Dog Box was founded to help broaden the reach of this healthy mission, allowing pet parents across the nation to get Naked with it's bi-monthly pet food subscription service.
